About Better Days
Better Days is a humanitarian NGO dedicated to creating and sustaining innovative physical, mental, and emotional spaces for displaced people, currently based in Lesvos, Greece. Whether doing emergency response or providing informal education, Better Days continues to emphasize the importance of ‘space’, participatory practices and individual flourishing.
Our challenge
It was important to find a direct and memorable way of communicating how Better Days positively impacts and improves the lives of those who have had to flee from life-threatening situations, often undertaking highly dangerous journeys to seek safety.
The solution needed to translate well onto the organisation’s annual report, their flagship document. It also needed to provide them with a strong cohesive visual theme that could be used to reach a wider audience via a social media campaign running throughout the year to raise awareness of the NGO’s work.
Our Strategy
We developed a bold typographic idea of taking words that describe the negative situations that individuals face when they become refugees.
By cancelling the negative element and making the word reflect a positive outcome, we communicate the dramatic impact Better Days is able to achieve in helping them to re-build their lives, regain their confidence and help them to integrate into their new surroundings with a positive future outlook.
A wide reaching campaign
The reporting communication platform was extended to an effective social media campaign increasing the reach of the key messages of the last year. The challenges faced. The activities of the NGO and their impact on individuals were all integrated into the campaign.
