About Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation
The Foundation supports young people to find their purpose, place and passion in the world.
Working in partnership with organisations and governing bodies in more than 120 countries and territories they support and provide opportunities for 14-24-year-olds to develop their interests, skills and life ambitions, inclusive of all backgrounds, locations, cultures and abilities.
Founded in 1956, by His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh KG KT, the Award highlights the value of non-formal education and learning. Today there are consistently over a million young people taking on the Award’s challenge to believe in the power of their potential, make a difference in their community and take control of their future. The result? Entire generations of innovators and change makers who are truly world-ready.
Our challenge
We worked with the Foundation team to present their Case for Support to their many supporters, partners and donors. At a time when the mental health and wellbeing of young people across the world is at an all time high in the face of unprecedented challenges post the Covid-19 pandemic, it was important to convey the positive impact of the Award scheme in an engaging and compelling way.
Our Strategy
We developed a narrative for a microsite and digital document that begins by explaining the nature and scale of the problem before setting out the ambitions, strategies, and actions being taken by the Foundation.
Interspersed with positive personal outcomes of young Award scheme participants, the theme of progress and improvement is emphasised through the use of bold graphics to help give the narrative momentum and underline the importance of investing in our youth to support and encourage the next generation of changemakers.
